The Top Heater plays an important role in reactivating the glue on gummed tape. Heating the glue it allows the glue to tack down faster and penetrate into the carton forming a strong secure seal.

Quick Service Tip From time to time it is good to clean glue and mineral deposits that collect on the plate under the heater. You can scrape these deposits off with a razor and use a wire brush on the end of a drill Cleaning the heater plate reduces tape jams. When replacing the Top Heater also check and replace the Lower Heater Plate if it is bent or has accumulated deposits
